A simple but tempting menu with affordable prices is exactly what these guys get right — yep, they have toasties, sandwiches and wraps but also a burger, warming bowls and small sides — all interesting while still being totally free from animal products. The Persian Stew with slow-cooked aubergines, wholegrain rice, yogurt, shiraz, salad and sumac kale crisps had my name on it although I could have gone for any of the other three bowls, they all sounded amazing on a chilly winter day. And boy, was it just what I needed, a generous bowl full of goodness and wonderful aromas to really warm my body up inside. With a forever changing fresh dessert, cake and pastry counter, plus local coffee and beers, Vertigo certainly has a promising future which I think hope will appeal to everyone, not just vegans or veggies.
